Fall Leadership Conference

SkillsUSA Kansas

State Fall Leadership Conference

October 13 + 14, 2009

Cross Winds Conference Center

Hesston, Kansas

 

This state-wide activity focuses on developing Leadership Skills for the local/school and district officers.  In addition to the election of the 2009-10 College/Postsecondary State Officers and one High School State Officer (the other six were elected in April 2009), workshops will be presented for students and teachers on the following topics:

Program of Work:  The seven dynamics of a good Chapter POW will be introduced and activities for the coming year shared.
Officer Duties & Responsibilities:  Students will learn the responsibilities of leadership and how a local officer team functions.
Leadership Competitions Previews:  Job Skill Demo, Promotional Bulletin Board, Prepared Speech, Extemporaneous Speaking and Job Interview.
Kansas Statesman Recognition:  Earn your Statesman pin at this conference.
Fall Leadership Special Competitions:  Creed Contest, 30 Second Elevator Story, Promoting SkillsUSA Poster, and more!
Teachers/Advisors workshop:  Registration software for 2010 state conference preview.

*Schools not staying overnight at the Cross Wind Conference Center, must pay a $10.00 per person fee to cover the day usage fee charged by the Conference Center ($5.00/PERSON/DAY x 2 DAYS = $10.00).
