State Fall Leadership Conference

DATE:                        October 18 + 19, 2011

LOCATION:                Cross Winds Conference Center, Hesston KS

TIME:                         11:30 AM on Tuesday, October 18th through

                                  3:00 PM on Weds, October 19th

 

State Fall Leadership Conference is the annual state-wide Leadership Development activity especially for school and new district officers.  Included in this conference is the election of the 7 member College/Postsecondary State Officer Team and, if necessary, the election of several members of the High School State Officer Team. At the 2011 Fall Conference, we will be electing 3 HS officers. 

The voting delegates involved in this process have been elected at the District Fall Leadership Conference held in September. 

Sessions at the Fall Conference include:

Program of Work:  The seven dynamics of a good Chapter POW will be introduced and activities for the coming year shared. 

Successful Local Chapters:  Develop a local chapter (school) calendar of activities

Officer Duties & Responsibilities:  Students will learn about the responsibilities of leadership and how a local officer team functions.

SkillsUSA Kansas Recognition Programs:

¨     Chapter (school) Recognition:  Learn about the “Kan Do Chapter” program 

¨     Professional Recognition:  Teacher/Advisor and Administrator of the Year for Kansas nominations 

¨     SkillsUSA Kansas Scholarship program

¨     Kansas Statesman Recognition:  Earn your Statesman pin at this conference.

 

The following Fall Leadership Special Competitions will be held:

Registration        $45.00 each person staying at the Conference Center

                           $55.00 each person driving in daily*

  • Includes all workshop materials

*Schools not staying overnight at the Cross Wind Conference Center, must pay a $10.00 per person fee to cover the day usage fee charged by the Conference Center ($5.00/PERSON/DAY x 2 DAYS = $10.00).

 

Housing                         Double           $72.00 ($36.00 each person)

                                       Triple           $90.00 ($30.00 each person)

 

Please note:  There are no single or quad rooms.  If you require a single accommodation, you will need to pay for the whole room, $72.00.
