State Fall Leadership Conference

This state-wide activity focuses on developing Leadership Skills for the local/school and district officers.  In addition to the election of the 2010-11 College/Postsecondary State Officers and one High School State Officer (the other six were elected in April 2010), workshops will be presented for students and teachers on the following topics:

What is it?

This state-wide activity focuses on developing Leadership Skills for the local/school and district officers.  Workshops will be presented for students and teachers on the following topics:

  1. Program of Work:  The seven dynamics of a good Chapter POW will be introduced and activities for the coming year shared. 

  2. Successful Local Chapters:  Develop a local chapter (school) calendar of activities

  3. Officer Duties & Responsibilities:  Students will learn about the responsibilities of leadership and how a local officer team functions.

  4. SkillsUSA Kansas Recognition Programs:

  • Chapter (school) Recognition:  Learn about the “Kan Do Chapter” program

  • Professional Recognition:  Teacher/Advisor and Administrator of the Year for Kansas nominations

  • SkillsUSA Kansas Scholarship program

  • Kansas Statesman Recognition:  Earn your Statesman pin at this conference.

  1. Fall Leadership Special Competitions:

  • Creed Contest

  • 30 Second Elevator Story

  • Promoting SkillsUSA Poster

  • Tweet This

  • Jeopardy and more!

  1. Teachers/Advisors workshop:  Get Ready for State Conference 2011!

v    Voting Delegates (District Officers elected at the September District Fall Leadership  Conferences)

*Schools not staying overnight at the Cross Wind Conference Center, must pay a $10.00 per person fee to cover the day usage fee charged by the Conference Center ($5.00/PERSON/DAY x 2 DAYS = $10.00).
